The sun inВ its annual motion came toВ the constellation ofВ Libra, which is aВ double star consisting ofВ pairs ofВ stars very close toВ each other, connected byВ the force ofВ mutual gravitation. The Arabs called it Zubenelgenubi is Southern Scale and Zubeneshamali is Northern Scale. At this moment the length ofВ the day became equal toВ the duration ofВ the night. Probably, this was the reason for the name ofВ this constellation.




The symbol


The astrological symbol for LibraВ is scales or balance. The graphic symbol ofВ Libra is an inverted bowl ofВ old scales or half ofВ the Sun rising above the horizon, while the second part ofВ it remains invisible. It is aВ symbol ofВ equality and harmony.
